This workshop will be useful for educators who need to make decisions about identifying and supporting children who struggle with both reading and emotional health; for example, teachers, special educators, principals, literacy specialists, etc. If you are a clinician, please register for our clinicians version of this workshop here. Session 1: Learners will access online contents in their own time. We will consider the scientific evidence for an association between poor reading and emotional problems, the cognitive profiles of poor readers with emotional problems, and the causal mechanisms that may link poor reading to anxiety. Session 2: This live 2.5-hour session will focus on practicalities. It will provide guidance – based on recent research – on how to identify anxiety in children with poor reading in the classroom. This workshop is now full and registrations have been closed. Please put your name on the waitlist below to hear about when we will offer this workshop next. |
