Getting to the venue
By train:
Macquarie University train station is located on the Northern Line which runs between between Hornsby and the city via Macquarie Park.
Services run approximately every 15 minutes in both directions.

By bus:
Buses travel through the university on Balaclava Road and University Avenue. Some routes are only accessible from outside the campus at the bus stop located near the entrances to the Macquarie University Train Station and Macquarie Centre (located on Herring Rd).

By car:
Macquarie University is located in the suburb of Marsfield. If travelling from the City, the fastest way to reach the University is via the Lane Cove tunnel. If travelling from the Hills districts and the greater west, take the M2 motorway (exit at the Christie Road or Herring Road off-ramps). The University is a short distance from the Sydney Orbtial road network.

Parking
Macquarie University is a paid parking area. You must display a valid form of payment or authorisation or you can risk being fined with a parking infringement notice. There are various payment and ticket options available.

Free shuttle bus around Macquarie University campus and train station
The University offers a complimentary shuttle bus service around the Campus during semester. Simply hop on or off wherever you choose and use the service as much or as little as you like; Monday to Friday during semester from 4:00pm to 12.30am.

Hotel accommodation is available in the downtown area of Sydney (30 mins by direct train). Proximity to Town Hall or Wynyard Stations is useful.
Other options are at Chatswood (10 mins) and North Sydney (20 mins), both on the train line to the university.
Arriving from overseas - Sydney Airport
Sydney Domestic and International airports are about 30 km from Macquarie University. Transport options from the airport include taxi, airport shuttle and train.
Taxi
Taxi is a convenient way to travel from the airport, and there are taxi ranks outside the international and domestic terminals. Fares to the university may be $70-$150 AUD (depending on traffic).
Shuttle Bus
Shuttle buses also operate from Airport to Macquarie University. These must be booked in advance by contacting Hills Airport Shuttle.

Train
There are train stations at the international and domestic airport terminals. A train service runs from the Airport to Central Station and takes about 10 minutes. Once at Central Station you should catch a train to Epping or Chatswood train stations. From here you can transfer to “Epping-Chatswood Line” which will take you to Macquarie University.
