It is over 10 years since the publication of the first article on the Westmead PTA Scale by Doctors Shores, Marosszeky, Sandanam and Batchelor in 1986. Since that time we have gained a wealth of clinical experience using the scale and we would now like to distil this knowledge into an updated manual. We have provided readers with easy-to-read instructions and new procedures for special patients. We hope that this manual will be of value to clinicians and researchers, thereby ensuring that the Westmead PTA Scale will has a fruitful second decade.
