October
Octr. 3.
This day died much regretted, Major Robert Sinclair Depy. Adjutant
General, in the Honble. Company's Service. —
Octr. 5.
Capt. Henry Oakes appointed his Successor.
Octr. 22.
Finding the Rent of Capt. Hayes's House which I
had some time past possessed too high for my present Finances, I
resolved on quitting it; and accordingly, I hired on the 15th. Instant,
a very neat small House or Bungaloe [sic], the property of Mr. Robertson, at the rent of Forty Rupees Per Month.
— It is very pleasantly and conveniently situated, being much
nearer the Town of Bombay than my former one, and contains sufficient
room for my accommodation. — I removed into my new Bungaloe [sic] this
day. —
