I eat my Christmas Dinner with Alexr. Adamson
Esqr.; where a large and
pleasant Party of Gentlemen dined. — I spent the Evening at Mr.
Morley's, where I was also invited to dine, but had been pre-engaged to
Mr. Adamson. —
Decr. 28.
This day sailed for England the Montrose East Indiaman commanded by
Capt. Dorin; on her went Passengers Mrs. Capt. French and
Capt. Cumine 75th.
Regt., who I did myself the pleasure to
accompany on board. — I wrote by the Montrose letters of
date

General Carnac gave a Ball & Supper at the Tavern, to the principal
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Settlement, in honour of Earl Cornwallis's
Birth-day. — I had the honor of dancing with Miss Jarvis. —
