Our research
We cover topics such as the foundations of public health, epidemiology and biostatistics, the determinants of health, health law, economics and policy, health promotion, systems science in health care, advanced research methods and innovation in health leadership. Our specialisations include environmental and global health, ethics and policy, and leadership.
Research areas
We partner with researchers internationally and across other faculties within Macquarie to conduct research. We have research expertise in integrated care, disability, perinatal health, HIV, health economics, health promotion, epidemiology, biostatistics and health promotion.

Affiliations
Our department is proud to have interdisciplinary connections with the Department of Anthropology, Department of Environmental Sciences,Centre for the Health Economy (MUCHE), and the Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI). These relationships support research collaborations with Centre for Healthcare Resilience and Implementation Science (CHRIS), the Centre for Health Informatics (CHI) and the Centre for Health Systems and Safety Research (CHSSR). Further teamwork is carried out by academics and researchers across the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, allowing for diverse skill sets and expertise to be utilised.
