Distinguished Professors
The title of ‘Distinguished Professor’ is awarded to eminent professors of Macquarie University who are of exceptional distinction and who have made an outstanding contribution to their field or discipline, and to the University. The award is among the highest honours the University can bestow.
To be eligible for consideration as a Distinguished Professor, the person must hold the title ‘Professor of Macquarie University’. The expectation is that the person is in the top 1% of their field and continuing to demonstrate excellence. In particular, nominees must have demonstrated continuing achievement in the three elements of academic endeavour: teaching, research, and community engagement.
