Events
Our events aim to foster cross-discipline collaboration between industry, government and researchers to develop innovative solutions and technologies to drive the transition to a sustainable energy system. Our events include collaborative workshops, informative seminars and Q&A sessions, and other networking opportunities.
We welcome opportunities to partner with organisations and other research groups on relevant events. Please contact us to discuss.

Online seminar - Silicon solar cells: recent advances and remaining challenges.
Presented by SERC members:
Dr David Payne.
Solar power has experienced decades of exponential growth and now represents about 10% of electricity production in Australia. This is primarily due to the continued development of silicon photovoltaic (PV) technology. This seminar discussed the opportunities to advance this technology and overcome challenges so as to improve solar energy production and accelerate the uptake of renewables that is required to minimise climate change effects. | 2021, November 17 at 1pm (AEST) |
Online seminar - The risk and reliability of hydrogen as a sustainable energy source.
Presented by SERC members:
Associate Professor Rouzbeh Abbassi and Dr Fatemeh Salehi.
This seminar discussed the risk and reliability of hydrogen as a sustainable energy source. Hydrogen is a clean energy source which does not directly contribute to CO2 emissions. Our research members are leaders in sustainable hydrogen production, hydrogen utilisation, and best practice in hydrogen safety. | 2021, October 20 at 1pm (AEST) |
Workshop: Challenges in hydrogen storage, transmission and application - safety aspects
This collaborative workshop brought together research and industry experts to discuss the challenges in the safe storage, transmission and application of the clean energy source, hydrogen. Watch the Industry Panel Session video where our speakers from Coregas, BOC and pitt&sherry provide an insightful overview on hydrogen storage, transmission and application in Australia. | 2020, Nov 25 |
