Mehnaz Tabassum is a research scholar at Macquarie University's Centre for Health Informatics (CHI), part of the Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI). She has a bachelor's degree in computer science and engineering, as well as a postgraduate degree. Her areas of research interest include image processing and analysis (both generic and medical), computer vision, and artificial intelligence. Anne is working as a junior doctor at the Royal Melbourne Hospital after completing her Medical degree at the University of Melbourne. She undertook her final year research project with the CNS lab and remains involved in ongoing projects focused on improving brain tumour diagnosis and prognosis with aid of machine learning. She is interested in applying best evidence to inform clinical practice and is completing her Masters In Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Sydney. She aspires to a clinical and research career in Neurosurgery, and enjoys learning new things and working collaboratively with others to improve patient care.

Lucas has a bachelor’s degree in Bioprocesses and Biotechnology Engineering, a master’s in Biotechnology and currently a PhD student at University of São Paulo. His areas of research involve the combination of proteomics and machine learning for the diagnosis and prognosis of diseases. Currently, he is a visiting scholar at the CNS Lab working with the application of machine learning/deep learning for diagnosis of diseases in clinical neuroscience under the supervision of Prof. Antonio Di Ieva and Prof. Giuseppe Palmisano.

Lena is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering at the Technical University of Ilmenau (Germany) and is doing an internship in the CNS lab as part of her studies. As her interests lie in the field of medical imaging and biosignal processing, she is delighted to be involved in a project to analyse MEG data from patients with neuropathic pain. While working on fractal time series analysis and graph theory, she is supervised by Prof. Antonio Di Ieva and A/Prof. Ghasem Azemi.

Nicole Ward holds a BSc in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience from Western University, Canada. Prior to joining Macquarie University, she worked in the Numerical Cognition Lab at Western University, where her research was focused on the developing brain. Currently, she is a visiting scholar at the Computational Neurosurgery Lab at Macquarie University, under the supervision of Dr. Antonio Di Ieva. Nicole is excited to immerse herself in the ongoing projects at the CNS lab during her tenure at the University.
Merve Yazol

Dr. Merve Yazol received her Medical Degree in 2011 and specialization in Radiology in 2017 in Turkey. She has been a Specialist Radiologist since 2017 and has a subspecialty in Pediatric Radiology since 2019. She has been a lecturer and clinical researcher at Gazi University School of Medicine, since 2019 at Gazi University Hospital in Ankara, Turkey. Her thesis was on analyzing treatment responses in sellar and parasellar tumors and the effects of gamma knife radiosurgery on optic pathways using DTI. She has presented her findings at numerous national congresses and has published in journals in the fields of neuroimaging and diagnostic radiology. She is committed to advancing the field of neuroradiology through the innovative application of CT, MRI, and DTI techniques.

Eric Suero Molina was a Computational Neurosurgery Fellow at the Computational NeuroSurgery (CNS) Lab at Macquarie University, Sydney. He was a neurosurgeon and university lecturer at the University Hospital of Münster, Germany (Chairman: Prof. Dr. med. W. Stummer). He created and led the minimally invasive skull base surgery program of the same hospital. He had expertise in Neuro-oncology and Spine surgery and led a research group in optical and hyperspectral imaging of brain tumors at the University of Münster. He graduated in Medicine from the faculty of Medicine of Münster. He underwent neurosurgical training at the same university. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration in international healthcare management from the Frankfurt School of Business and Management.
