I was presented to the King by Ld. Londonderry at Carlton Palace & most graciously received.

Parliament was prorogued by the King. —

At 5. P.M. I had an interview with the Marquis of Londonderry at his House in St. James's Sqr. – on the subject of my Claims on Govt. for my recent Services in N.S. Wales, which he has promised to enforce & support, but recommended me in the first instance to apply official to Lord Bathurst.
Saty. 10. Augt.
I recd. the allce. for my Passage from Treasury vizt. £1000 – and paid the amt. to my Bankers Messrs. Coutts & Co. —
The King left London a qr. before 3 P.M. this day for Greenwich to Embark for Scotland. —
Monday 12. Augt. 1822!
Went this morning early to Breakfast at Cecil Cottage, Chesant, with Charles Knight to talk to him about and see Mr. Judge Advt. Wylde's 3 Boys: – disce. from London 17 miles: – returned to Town a little after 1. P.M. —
At ½ past 1. P.M. I waited on Sir Herbert Taylor Mily. Secry. – and had some interesting conversation with him. —
At 2. P.M. recd. intelligence of the sudden Death of Marquis of Londonderry early this morning.

I went wth. Mrs. M. & Lachn. to Mr. A. Campbell at Harrow. —
Monday 19. Augt.
I returned to London wth. Mrs. M. & Lachlan.
Tuesdy. 20 Augt.
I attended the Funeral of the Marquis of Londonderry.
Friday 23d. Augt. 1822.
At 6. P.M. Embarked on bd. the Favourite Smack Capt. Sanderson in River Thames – & sailed then down River. —
Tuesday 27. Augt.
At 6. A.M. anchored in Leith Roads – & landed at 1. P.M. at Leith.
Wedy. 28 Augt.
Went in a Post Chaise to Dalkeith to enquire after the Raine's Health. —
Thursday 29. Augt.
The King embarked from Hopeton House & Sailed for London.
Saty. 31. Augt. 1822
Capt. Watts set out for Glasgow.
