Wednesday! — The Sir Wm. Pulteney
Extra Indiaman arrived here this day from England - but last from the
Cape of Good Hope; having sailed from the former on the 31st. of Augt. last along with
the Expedition for the Cape.
I have had the happiness to receive Letters by this opportunity from my
dearest Miss Campbell and other friends at Home, but of very old dates.

Thursday! — The Fury Cruizer arrived here this day from
Bussora with an Overland Packet from England - bringing the mournful and
afflicting accounts of that great, illustrious, and good Patriotic
Statesman, and Orator, Mr. Pitt, our upright,
able, and excellent Minister, having paid the great debt of Nature in
the month of January last; — the Death of this Great Man being
universally lamented by the whole Nation! — Mr. Fox has succeed [sic] Mr.
