July 6.
This day arrived from England the Buccleugh East Indiaman Capt. Wall; by this Ship, I had the satisfaction of
receiving, letters from all my Friends at Home; one of them in
particular, afforded me infinite pleasure; which, was that from my Uncle
and Aunt Lochbuy; wherein, they jointly inform me, of their being made
happy with the birth of a Son and Heir, to inherit the Ancient Name,
titles and Estate of Maclaine of Lochbuy! —
The Dublin Indiaman Capt. Smith arriv'd at
Bombay about this time, and I had the pleasure of seeing often my old
Friends belonging to her while she remained.
