Interactive Undergraduate Research Workshop

Facilitators:
Rishi Minocha (4th year student, Macquarie University Law School)
Dr Michaela Baker (Academic Director for PACE, Faculty of Arts and Lecturer, Academic Development, PACE)
Description:
This hands-on workshop is aimed at undergraduate researchers who are interested in gaining insight into the research process as well as examining the effective and efficient use of research resources, such as online databases. We will begin with an exercise adapted from Walkerden (2013) that is aimed at clarifying the micro-processes particular to each person’s research practice. We will then, through a hands-on practical exercise in researching a topic, provide tips about how to use research resources in a productive way. There will be time for participants to discuss their own research experiences and to connect these to the information provided by the facilitators.
