Prepare samples in our specialist laboratory
Our specialist sample preparation laboratory and disaggregation machine facilities are available to Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences students, staff and researchers.
Available analyses include:
- sample disaggregation
- sample sawing, crushing and milling
- heavy liquid separation
- petrographic analysis
- sample mounting in epoxy
- thin sectioning.

Specifications
A typical sample is one kilogram of crushed rock, but the machine can also process significantly less material.
