The New Colombo Plan Secretariat provides the opportunity for undergraduate students going to Asia on a semester exchange program to have access to a one-time-off grant. This grant can be used by the student to help themselves with program-related expenses. For more information on The New Colombo Plan Mobility Program, please visit the DFAT page.
Students undertaking an exchange program with any partner university remain enrolled at Macquarie and pay their tuition fees to Macquarie University. They do not have to pay any tuition fees to the host university. For more information, please visit our Costs page.

Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Security Studies can apply for New Colombo Plan Mobility Funding to join the Faculty of Arts India Study Tour. This three-week block unit is open to undergraduates enrolled in the Faculty of Arts, providing an immersive opportunity to study Indian society and culture at three centres of higher education.
Students participate in structured learning at:
A diverse set of classes explore India and its relationship with its region, including Indian history, culture, language, international relations and security, politics, governance, dance, fashion, and art. There are also opportunities to undertake field trips to some of India’s most spectacular sites and to explore its rural villages. The tour usually runs in the mid-semester break during Session 2 and is led by an academic from the Faculty of Arts.
