Profile of Zhe Huang (Adelis)
After graduating from the first year of the Master of Conference Interpreting Program at Macquarie University, Adelis has been teaching in the translation and interpreting program for over 15 years. Her main area of teaching is interpreting (community and conference), but she also has a strong interest in translation teaching as well.
Adelis is a NAATI certified translator and interpreter (English <> Chinese (Mandarin)). Therefore, apart from being a part-time scholarly teaching fellow at the translation and interpreting program at Macquarie University, Adelis is also a freelance translator and interpreter – one of the most sought-after interpreters in Australia. She has offered her skilled interpreting services to hundreds of conferences (simultaneous or consecutive), ranging from high-level government exchanges, finance, insurance, pharmaceutical, marketing, education, agriculture and energy, IT, law, national defence, etc. This experience of working in the industry as a practitioner, in return, enables Adelis to pass on information about the latest knowledge and trends in the industry to the students, to keep them up to date.
