Professor Catherine McMahon
Catherine McMahon is Professor of Audiology and has been a member of the academic staff at Macquarie since 2003. She has a national and international reputation in the field of hearing research, education and practice and played a key role in the recent World Health Organisation’s World Report on Hearing.

Associate Professor Philip Chappell
Phil Chappell has been involved in Applied Linguistics and TESOL for many years, including teaching and managing English language programs internationally and in Australia. He has been in the Linguistics department at Macquarie since 2011, where he teaches and supervises research students in the Applied Linguistics and TESOL programs. His role as Deputy Head focuses on learning and teaching, marketing, and internationalisation. Phil’s research focuses on several aspects of second language teaching and learning, including TESOL methodology, language classroom interaction, language teacher cognition, systemic functional linguistics for language teaching, sociocultural approaches to language learning and teaching, and international English language students' study abroad experiences. He is currently the Executive Editor of the English Australia Journal.
