English Language Ideologies in Korea

Jinhyun (Jean) Cho’s new book English Language Ideologies in Korea has just been published by Springer. The book offers insights on English as a global language in South Korea and its influence on society from micro- and macro-perspectives; examines the impacts of globalisation and neoliberalism on South Korea over the last 20 years; and is informed by research on English-Korean interpreters and the impact of “English Fever”. English Language Ideologies in Korea is based on Jean’s PhD thesis, which she completed in the department last year. You can read more about Jean’s reflections on the book at Language on the Move.
