2018 American Association of Applied Linguistics Book Award

The American Association of Applied Linguistics (AAAL) has announced that Language Policy and Political Economy: English in a Global Context (Oxford University Press, 2015) has won the 2018 AAAL Book Award. The book, which is edited by Thomas Ricento (University of Calgary) includes a chapter by Professor Ingrid Piller and Dr Jinhyun Cho about “Neoliberalism as language policy.” The chapter is a reprint of their 2013 Language in Society article with the same title. The article is available for open access from Cambridge Core.
