We have a strong commitment to culture-related activities across the campus and the wider community.

Walanga Muru hosts a wide range of events celebrating Aboriginal culture, such as:

  • Student cultural days
  • Close the Gap Day
  • our annual Deadly Student Ball
  • movie nights
  • Indigenous Nationals

The Bubuk Room

The Bubuk Room is a culturally safe learning space located in the Macquarie University Library. The room includes access to computers with internet and is available for Aboriginal students to use for individual learning or group work with peers.

Macquarie University has free and confidential assistance and services that are available to all students on campus.

These include:

  • career and employment service
  • counselling service
  • disability service
  • medical service
  • student advocacy and support service.
