The Macquarie-Ryde Futures Partnership (MRFP) brings the University and City of Ryde Council together to support excellence in local government, community development and sustainability through research and student engagement.

The MRFP was established in December 2011 through a Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Vice-Chancellor and the Mayor.

Our goal

The MRFP encourages research that contributes directly to the Council meeting it Community Strategic Plan.

The MRFP is a strong and diverse partnership that coordinates research, planning and development towards shared goals.

Our work

MRFP works across fields many fields:

  • community development,
  • community capacity-building,
  • urban planning, place making,
  • workforce planning,
  • leadership development,
  • environmental sustainability and
  • utilisation of technologies to enhance citizen engagement and customer service.

We work with researchers, council staff, teachers, students and community groups.

We work in Macquarie Park and across the entire City of Ryde.
