Congratulations to Associate Professor Andrew Georgiou from the Centre for Health Systems and Safety Research at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation on being admitted to the Fellowship of the Faculty of Science (Research) of The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia.
This was in recognition of his outstanding record of quality research as a health and pathology informatics researcher across the areas of quality and safety, outcomes measurement and organisational communication research.
“It is a great honour to be admitted as a Fellow of the Faculty of Science (Research) of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. Pathology testing forms a critical part of each person’s medical care and underpins the functioning of an effective and safe healthcare system,” says Andrew.
“I believe the fellowship award stands as a recognition of the role that pathology informatics research has made to building a solid pathology evidence base, leading to the quality use of pathology and enhanced patient care.”
Associate Professor Georgiou plays a leading role in the engagement and liaison with consumers, industry and government for the translation of research into practice.
Admission to Fellowship is a significant honour, recognising professionals whose outstanding research expertise in science and pathology makes a vital contribution to the Faculty of Science.
