The Student Experience Survey (SES) is a Department of Education and Training initiative to help ensure ongoing improvement in the quality of learning and teaching in Australian universities. The survey focuses on aspects of the student experience linked with learning and development outcomes. The results from this survey are used to help Macquarie and the government gain insight into students’ experiences, and to monitor and improve the student experience in Australian higher education.
Why are we involved?
Since 2012 Macquarie University participated in this survey. The survey is a part of the Federal Government’s Upholding Quality in Higher Education initiative, and all universities are required to participate.
Who will be surveyed?
A random sample of 12,760 current first and final year undergraduate students will be invited to participate.
What is the time frame?
The survey opens on Monday 3 August and will close on Monday 31 August.
How you can help
The Government has a required response rate of 35%. Staff are encouraged to promote this survey to their undergraduate students as the data obtained from the SES plays a key role in improving the quality of the student experience at Macquarie.
