On Friday 5 June the Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor will officially host the Governor of New South Wales, His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), on campus for his first visit as the ex-officio Visitor of the University.
The Governor and Mrs Hurley, will officially open the new University Avenue, and take a short tour of the campus before attending a lunch in the Chancellery.

Traditionally, Visitors are overseers of autonomous non-profit organisations who can intervene in the internal affairs of the institution. Today, the role remains in legacy although the Visitor’s function is predominantly ceremonial.
Staff are invited to attend the opening ceremony to welcome the Governor to the University and to his new role.
