Road changes at Macquarie: The new University Avenue

The new stretch of University Avenue is now open, and all traffic entering or leaving the campus via Herring/Waterloo Road will use this new road. Traffic can no longer turn directly onto Research Park Drive from University Avenue, and now must use the new roundabout to gain access.

In addition, to help create a more pedestrianised space at the heart of the campus, Macquarie Drive and Eastern Road is now closed to the general public, and boom gates have been installed to allow access for disabled permit holders and University vehicles when required.

All bus stops have been relocated to University Avenue, and buses are now re-routed along this road.

The below map highlights the key directional changes and detours.
