Tuesday 5 May saw almost 400 students and staff come together at the Macquarie Scholars Connect Reception, a new initiative to engage elite students and provide them with the opportunity to network and celebrate their achievements.

Hosted by Macquarie International, the event was the first time the University has brought scholars from across campus to network. Students from 20 scholarship groups, admission schemes, and mentors and buddy programs, joined staff from every faculty, including the DVC Student and Registrar, DVC International, and DVC Corporate and Engagement portfolios.

“It is absolutely wonderful to see students across all faculties, domestic and international, networking in such a fun environment,” said Nicole Brigg, Director of Macquarie International. “Most of these students joined our Macquarie family from very different backgrounds. However, they will be sharing the university journey together, and make friends for life during their studies here.”
