On Monday 27 April the latest Student System (AMIS) software version is scheduled to be launched, including new branding across AMIS, eStudent, eAcademic and eApplication.
Downtime
To prepare for the upgrade, eStudent, eApplications and eAcademic will be unavailable from 5pm on Friday 24 April until 10am on Monday 27 April.
The Cashiers Office, located in the Lincoln Building, will close an hour early at 4pm on Friday 24 April, and will return to normal business hours from 9am on Monday 27 April.
Any processes or actions in systems that are reliant on live student data fed from AMIS, should be completed prior to 5pm on Friday 24 April.
Student communications
As this is the last weekend for students to withdraw from a unit without academic penalty via eStudent, an alternative link to complete their requests will be displayed on the static outage page during the downtime. Students will be communicated to about the downtime via email, student notices and social media.
About the upgrade
This upgrade sees the Student System (AMIS) upgraded with new hardware and enables the program team to implement a range of improvements and new functionality to our important student management system. This work forms part of Macquarie’s broader commitment to improving online student services.
Future improvements include, in due course, the delivery of enhanced recruitment and admissions functionality, including streamlining and tracking applications for admissions staff and adding the ability for students to track the progress of their application. This will initially be delivered for Higher Degree Research applicants before rollout to other direct application pathways at Macquarie.
Resources and training
Resources are being made available via the Self Help and Training Guides on the AMIS website. In the week prior to the upgrade, group training sessions will be offered to the business areas most impacted by the change. Further training and information sessions will be progressively rolled out after the upgrade.
