New Colombo Plan mobility grant applications now open for 2016

The International Relations office invites staff to submit program proposal applications for the 2016 round of New Colombo Plan (NCP) mobility grants. NCP is a government initiative that provides funding for Australian universities to provide grants to students that are:

    • 18-28 year old;
    • Australian;
    • Undergraduate students

to participate in semester-based or short-term experiences in the Indo-Pacific region.

Staff apply for student cohort-based programs;

    • Semester-based study
    • Short-term study
    • Practicums / clinical placements
    • Internships and mentorships
    • Short-term research

These programs can be held in any of these 38 destinations.

Staff are encouraged to utilise any existing academic relationships to create proposals. The programs are required to count for credit at Macquarie, either a complete unit taken abroad or a study component of a Macquarie unit.

FAQs and the Program Guideline can be found on the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) website.

A success story of past NCP recipients from Macquarie, Leesa Chen and Allison Chandler, can be viewed online.

We kindly ask that within each faculty a process for submitting applications is passed by the Associate Dean – International, to ensure each application has been reviewed or approved for consideration, after which, please forward to Associate Director, International Relations, Michele Robinson by COB Friday 15 May. Eryn Coffey from PACE International will coordinate the PACE bids and forward to Michele.
