Show your support of the empowerment of women and a brighter future for women and girls by joining the Macquarie  community in celebrating International Women’s Day, with a BBQ, stalls, activities, and performances.

Hosted by the Women’s Collective, with the support of Campus Life and the Equity and Diversity Unit, the event will raise funds to support UN Women’s programs and policy work empowering women and girls in our Pacific region to ensure they have access to educational, economic and leadership opportunities and can lead lives free from violence.

Enter the Instagram competition to win prizes
In the lead up to the event, staff are invited to enter an Instagram competition. The theme for International Women’s Day  is ‘Make it Happen’. To enter, post an Instagram photo about a woman you find inspiring or who you think has achieved great things and why, with the hashtags #IWD10MarchMQ and #MQmadeithappen.

Entries close at 4pm 10 March.
