Orientation, including the more commonly known ‘O Week’, is a great opportunity for our new and returning students to embrace campus life, explore the facilities, and meet staff and fellow students.
It is also a great opportunity for staff to meet new students before Session One and make them feel welcome at Macquarie.
The Orientation program officially starts this Thursday 12 February with international students arriving on campus, and continues into next week with academic orientation sessions and social activities for both domestic and international student groups. Staff are invited to connect with new students at these events. More than 1000 students studying across all faculties are expected to be on campus on Wednesday 18 February.
Session One classes and the ‘O Week’ program start on Monday 23 February, which will feature more than 150 events and activities across the week, and more than 120 stalls for students to discover their campus life, sport, academic and career opportunities. The program begins on Monday with a Welcome to Country in the Indigenous Learning Circle at 10.30am, and all staff are warmly invited to attend this community event.
If you’re a new staff member, we encourage you to take this opportunity to discover what the university experience is all about for our thousands of students.
