Preparation for the demolition of C4A to commences Monday 8 December
Site establishment for the demolition of building C4A commences Monday 8 December, to make way for a new University common and north-south walk across campus.
A safety fence will be erected around the site to ensure pedestrian safety during demolition. Footpaths to the C4A site will be closed.
Works with the highest noise and traffic impact are anticipated to take place between 15 and 24 December.
Weather permitting, work should be completed mid-to-late January, with landscaping continuing until late February 2015.
When required, traffic controllers will be on site to ensure the safety of pedestrians and other vehicles.

Excavation works to Wally’s Walk outside MUSE commence Tuesday 9 December
The installation of electrical infrastructure across Wally’s Walk will commence on Tuesday 9 December, west of the Coffee Cart between MUSE (C7A) and Macquarie Theatre. Pedestrian access on Wally’s Walk will be maintained for the duration of work.

Short water outage to C3B, E3A, E3B and E5B on Tuesday 9 December from 5am to 9am
An urgent requirement to disrupt water supply has arisen as part of preparation for C4A demolition works.
Service will resume by 9am.
A temporary water service will be connected to building E5B to minimise any impact on science research and the Globe Cafe.

Y3A deck temporarily closed from 15 December
The Y3A deck facing the creek will be closed from Monday 15 December until Thursday 15 January 2015 for repainting.
Access to the Mezze Café/Y3A Level 1 from the creek side of the building will not be permitted during this period.

Changed traffic conditions for Hadenfeld Avenue
Line marking and signage work will be carried out between Tuesday 16 and Wednesday 17 December on Hadenfeld Avenue to improve access and traffic circulation to the Y1 and Y2 car parks. During this period access to the Y2 car park will be via Balaclava Road and the Y1 car park only.
Following the completion of works, the following traffic conditions will be in place:
- Hadenfeld Ave will be two-way from Balaclava Rd to the Y2 car park entry.
- Entry to the Shell Service Station driveway from the Y2 car park will flow in one direction, allowing traffic to head westbound (towards Culloden Rd) only.
- Traffic entering from Culloden Rd will be able to enter the Shell Service Station driveway only. There will be no access to either ‘Y’ car park.

UBar Refurbishment
From today, the Ubar will be closed for a period of ten weeks and is scheduled to reopen in mid-February 2015.
During the closure period, noise and disruption will be kept to a minimum and the works will not impact surrounding food and beverage and retail outlets; all other Campus Hub outlets will operate as per normal.
