Spring is almost here, and whilst that means we can ditch the coats and scarves, we must also bid the Soup Kitchen a fond farewell.
“It has been a bumper year for soup, with 12,550 portions sold over the three months” said Executive Chef Peter Brewty. “Last year tomato was the outright favourite, but the new winter squash laksa took the lead for a while this season, before good old mushroom came from behind to take the 2014 title.”
Chef is letting the people decide what they want the final soup to be this Friday – mushroom, tomato, roast winter vegetables, curried lentil, fennel, or potato and leek. Vote now! (Not on Facebook but want your soup vote counted? Email thisweek@mq.edu.au by COB Tuesday 26 August).
What’s next for the Hub’s pop-up kitchen? Rumours of spring fish and chips are circulating, so watch this space…!
