The Australasian Conference of Undergraduate Research is going to Canberra

This year’s ACUR is taking place at the Australian National University in Canberra, on two days 18-19 September 2014. Students can present work they have done either as part of their course or an internship or work they have done with an external company. Please encourage your students directly or through other colleagues to participate in this conference. We are seeking broad representation across Australasian universities as well as presentations of research undertaken across the widest possible breadth of disciplines. Traditionally STEM disciplines and arts and social sciences are well represented in such conferences but we are also keen to encourage students in, for example, music, arts, design, etc. to show us what research looks like in these disciplines.

Students need to submit an abstract of no more than 300 words by 1 July 2014. Honours students are welcome to submit full papers. Great prizes can be expected again this year! There will also be a conference session designed for staff in the morning of Friday 18 September.

Posters judged to be the best at the conference will be exhibited at the Posters in Parliament event on the 22 September in Canberra. The event is being held during a parliamentary sitting day and all Members of Parliament will be invited to come and hear undergraduate students talk about their research.

This is a great opportunity for students to get involved and present their work to a wider audience!
