On Friday 20 June more than 600 staff from Macquarie University Hospital celebrated their 4th Birthday.
Hospital CEO Carol Bryant is delighted with all that’s been achieved since opening their doors. “We’ve seen double digit growth in all our key business areas this financial year, compared to last,” Carol explained.
In addition to increasingly busy patient services, the Hospital has seen significant growth in research and education after recently obtaining a major grant to conduct research into improving pre-admission processes and discharge pathways, and funding for a Clinical Nurse Consultant to work with prostate cancer patients for the next three years.
“In relation to education, we’ve launched a comprehensive nursing education program that is open to nurses across NSW,” added Carol.
The Hospital has also successfully achieved ISO accreditation against the National Quality and Safety Standards recently.
“We were one of the first hospitals in the country to be accredited against all ten standards and received significant praise from the national body for their implementation as well as the hospital’s overall audit results,” said Carol. “I am proud of the amazing team I work with and all that we have achieved together.”
