Combined Bachelor and Master Course

Enrolment Information

What happens when I finish my Bachelor component of studies?

Your undergraduate course status will be updated to Conditionally Complete when you meet the 240cp requirement, and your course status will show as Admitted for your postgraduate component of studies (when you have completed at least 210cp).

When does the progression check occur for me to continue with the Combined Bachelor and Masters course structure?

The progression check will be done at the completion of 160cp with a required WAM of 70 or WAM of 75, depending on the combined bachelor and masters program you have been admitted to. You will not be contacted if you meet the WAM requirements.

If you meet the requirement at that check point, you will be admitted to the postgraduate component of your studies when you have completed at least 210cp of your undergraduate studies.

What if I don’t meet the WAM requirement at 160cp?

You will not be permitted to continue with the combined master's program. You will be advised by the relevant Faculty with information and instructions on how you can continue with your studies under the single Bachelor’s degree and you will be automatically Course Transferred to the single bachelor version of your course.

What if I meet the Progression requirements to continue with the Masters but no longer wish to?

You must submit a Course Transfer application request to continue studies for the single Bachelor’s degree.

What if I have completed and passed units under my Master’s component and no longer want to continue and would like to qualify for the single bachelor's degree?

First you need to use the Course Guidance self-help tool to find the resources to understand your course, the requirements, and the effects of making changes to your degree. You will also be required to submit a Qualification Check  form via your Service Connect Portal to indicate your intent to qualify for the single bachelors degree component.

What happens when I finish my Master component of my Combined degree?

You will be qualified for both the Bachelor and Masters degree of which you will receive one testamur

Can I graduate out with my Bachelor’s first and then continue with the Masters component?

No, this is not permitted as the Combined Bachelors degrees have been structured to meet specific curriculum requirements. If you would like to qualify with the bachelor's you must submit a Course Transfer application to continue with the undergraduate degree. You will need to reapply for postgraduate studies through UAC at a later date.

Can I change my Master component from what I had originally selected?

You will need to submit a Change of Major request under Service Connect Portal to be assessed for eligibility.
