About the scholarship

The Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor's International Scholarship - African Women in STEM supports studies in the area of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The value of the scholarship is 50% of the total tuition fee and will be applied towards your tuition fee when you commence your study at Macquarie University. This scholarship encourages women from the African region to explore their full potential and supports them in pursuing their quest for knowledge.

Duration

This scholarship is valid for the full duration of the course.

Criteria

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must be a female applicant studying a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics degree at an undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) level and meet the following criteria:

  • Be a citizen of a Sub-Saharan region.
  • Achieve a minimum 65 WAM for postgraduate or a minimum 85 ATAR (or equivalent) for undergraduate applications.
  • Hold a full offer for one the courses listed in the 'Applicable course' section below (single or double degree).
  • Be a full-time student studying on-campus.
  • Must not have received a scholarship or sponsorship from Macquarie University or another organisation for the degree (unless stated otherwise by the Scholarship Committee).

How to apply

To be considered for this scholarship, applicants are required to complete a scholarship application form and hold a valid offer letter to study at Macquarie University. Upon receipt of the scholarship application, students will be contacted with further details on submitting a selfie video as part of the assessment process.
