How to apply

Below is the information and instructions required to apply for the Next Step program, including the application form, fees, key dates and more.

Note: Next Step students will usually spend one to two sessions from the time of admission, to complete the pathway program.

Continuing Next Step students who have not met the articulation requirement after one session, and wish to re-enrol, can email pathways@mq.edu.au to add units for the following session.

Application process

STEP 1

Prepare the following supporting documentation before starting the Next Step online application :

  • Evidence of Australian citizenship or permanent residency – provide one of the following (an Australian driver's licence is not an acceptable form of evidence):
    • current passport
    • Australian citizenship certificate
    • visa grant notification.
  • Your previous academic record (if applicable).

STEP 2

Choose a maximum of two units of study per Session. See the available units for Next Step.

(Note: the unit list is not final and is subject to change.)

Refer to the degree requirements under the section Degrees you can articulate into before choosing your units. In this section, you can check the requirements and Session unit availability.

When you've selected your units, complete and submit your online application.  Note: all applications must have units selected so that we can proceed with your request.

STEP 3

After assessing your application (approx two weeks) we'll contact you via email, so make sure you check your nominated email address regularly.

Important notes:

  • Next Step is an upfront, tuition fee paying program. It is NOT available for HECS or FEE-HELP.
  • Tuition fees must be paid in full before the start of each study session.
  • You will be eligible to apply for HECS once you have articulated into a degree program.
