Prof Arnan Mitchell, Director of RMIT's Micro-Nano Research Facility, gave an inspiring talk for MQ Photonics today on Photonic Chips. His team are leveraging their fantastic fabrication facilities to support applications ranging from high-speed optical communications, to optical gyroscopes to microfluidic medical diagnostics. He has an exciting vision for an Australian manufacturing industry based on these photonic devices, as he translates his technologies out of the lab and into the world.
