Dr Andrea de Lima Ribeiro gave an enthusiastic presentation on LIDAR compatible remote sensing of water temperature using Raman Spectroscopy in the MQ Photonics Virtual seminar series. Andrea explained the advantages of the Raman approach to temperature measurement, and she showed some of the details of the spectral data analysis that enables her to report temperature resolutions of less than 0.5 C in natural waters. The seminar was broadcast by zoom, which enabled attendance by some external visitors as well as our Centre members.
