Discrete Choice Experiment project - working through the choices
Identifying parent preferences for care during a child’s admission to hospital
Working your way through the choices…
In the first example you may initially think that having a lower medication rate (first row) is important (Hospital A) but you may need to weigh this against the lower waiting time for non-urgent care and the choice of a single room in Hospital B.
As you go through the pairs of hospitals you may be faced with some difficult decisions, for example in Hospital A (below) the medication error rate is higher but the parking is free and your child gets to come home day early. Compared to Hospital B, which has similar medication error rates to other hospitals, where your child’s medications are reviewed by a specialist on a daily basis, and you only get told if an error occurs that HAS caused harm.
These are just some examples to help you work through the survey, but we are trying to find out what YOU think is important.
