Women in research citation awards
Dr Annie Lau, one of Australia’s leading digital health researchers, has been honoured in the inaugural Women in Research Citation Awards. Dr Lau leads the Consumer Informatics team at the Centre for Health Informatics, Australian Institute of Health Innovation. Her research focuses on using information technology (e.g. mobile apps) to help individuals achieve better health outcomes.
The awards, jointly presented by Clarivate Analytics and the Australian National University (ANU), honour the outstanding achievements of early to mid-career women researchers in Australia across all fields of research in science, social sciences and the humanities.
The award recipients span a variety of research disciplines and the awards are based on a methodology sourced from papers in the top 10 per cent for citations, adjusted for discipline and other factors. Dr Lau is the award recipient for the discipline ‘Health Informatics’.
The inaugural Women in Research Citation Awards were presented to 12 leading researchers at a ceremony held at ANU on 26 October 2017.
Dr Lau’s tip for other women in research - don’t be afraid to ask for help – whether it’s at home or at work.
