How do I get to Macquarie University?

Is parking available for the conference?
Allocated free parking spots will be available for conference attendees. Further information will be provided closer to the event to those who have requested parking.
What is the dress code for the conference?
Smart casual attire is recommended.
Are discounted hotel block reservations available to Conference attendees?
Yes. The options are listed on the ‘Accommodation and City’ page of the AEC6 website.

Can I split the conference days with a colleague?
No.
If I cannot attend owing to Covid-19 or for other reasons, what is the cancellation policy?
Registrations will be open until 1 June. Cancellations received prior to that date will be fully refunded less 20%. If you are registered and notify a cancellation after 1 June, you will receive a 50% refund of your registration fee.
Can I transfer my registration to another person if I am unable to attend?
Yes. You will need to lodge the change with the conference Organising Committee through the email aaec22@mq.edu.au
Will the sessions be recorded?
No.
Is there WiFi access?
Yes. Attendees will have access to the Macquarie guest WiFi network. Relevant access will be available on arrival.
If I am registered, can I access the recordings after the conference?
No. The Conference proceedings will not be recorded.
How do I contact the conference organisers urgently on the day of the conference?
The Conference email address aaec22@mq.edu.au will be monitored constantly for the duration of the conference.
Is coffee provided?
Coffee with refreshments is provided only during morning and afternoon conference breaks. Gluten free food options will be available.
Is lunch provided?
Lunch is not provided for the 3-day conference. On-Campus food outlets, "The Hub" are open on Thursday and Friday, a short walk from the Conference venue. Link: https://www.mq.edu.au/about/facilities/cafes-bars-restaurants
For Saturday, some food outlets are open on the Campus, but a variety of food is available at the nearby Macquarie Shopping Centre

Do I need to wear a mask?
As per current NSW Health guidelines, the wearing of masks in indoor settings is advised but not mandatory.
Do I need to produce proof of vaccination?
No, proof of vaccination is not required to attend the Conference. However, the Organising Committee recommends that attendees be vaccinated in accordance with NSW Health guidelines.

I am registered virtually. Do I receive a conference bag?
No. Conference bags will only be available to those attending on Campus. The Conference Abstracts and Program will be available on the conference website.
Who can attend the 6th Australasian Egyptology Conference?
Anyone interested in Egyptology can register and attend this Conference, either in-person or virtually.
