Children’s Rights, Participation and Perspectives
THE CHILDREN'S RIGHTS, PARTICIPATION AND PERSPECTIVES RESEARCH STREAM AIMS TO HIGHLIGHT, SUPPORT AND CREATE RESEARCH ENDEAVOURS THAT DEEPEN OUR UNDERSTANDING OF CONTEMPORARY CHILDREN'S RIGHTS ISSUES AND DEBATES.
Our stream brings together scholars whose research investigates the political, economic, legal, social and cultural dimensions of children’s rights. We critically examine how the concept of children’s rights is deployed by advocacy groups, policymakers, governments and international agencies.
Stream members respond to these questions from a diverse range of perspectives, from projects focused on specific children’s rights claims to those assessing broader trends relating to the emergence and deployment of the concept of children’s rights in Australia and internationally.
We welcome scholars from all disciplines, including anthropology, cultural studies, education, health sciences, history, international studies, law, linguistics, philosophy, politics and psychology.
