Overview: A key area of interest for this symposium is the measurement and analysis of ‘in-the-wild’ movement and performance of personnel to predict musculoskeletal injury risk and performance. With relatively recent advancement of sensors, such as, inertial motion units, combined with data analytics advances, the possibility of continual monitoring of personnel, together with meaningful data analytics has the potential to provide actionable insights for commanders.
Biomarkers are no longer restricted to traditional blood, sweat, and saliva, but encompass all data that can describe biological functions including kinetics and kinematics of movement.
