About the scholarship

Sharing information is a key goal of this project. Wiradjuri people are keen to see their cultural, economic, social and environmental knowledge about Country recorded and shared for people in the Mudgee area and beyond.

At the heart of the project is on-Country learning which will bring together collaborators, community members and local school students to learn from, and with, Country.

The project is a collaborative project between the Mudgee Local Aboriginal Land Council (MLALC), the National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) and academics. It will involve a series of on-Country learning workshops in the Mudgee area and an opportunity to work with an interdisciplinary team.

Potential research activities for the successful MRes student include:

  • participating in and documenting on-Country learning experiences
  • interviewing leads of the on-Country learning
  • conducting autoethnographic research.

The student will also be able to undertake an internship placement at MLALC and NPWS to further their professional development.
