AI in finance ARC grant-funded PhD scholarship

This PhD scholarship is part of the ARC Linkage Project (LP230201022) ‘Ethical Enterprise Representations for Personalised Sustainable Finance’.

Several domestic PhD and MRes scholarships are available to invent cutting-edge AI into addressing critical challenges for sustainable finance through developing ethical enterprise learning with ESG-integrated financial systems.

About the scholarship

The research investigates how advanced AI can transform financial systems, enabling personalised and sustainable investment strategies by integrating ethical enterprise learning with environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors.

PhD candidates will investigate new AI-driven solutions, including deep learning, federated learning and data science techniques, to tackle financial challenges in areas like portfolio optimisation, risk assessment and ESG compliance.

The project aims to develop AI-based tools and theories that not only support financial decision-making but also drive responsible and ethical investment strategies.

Working with leading researchers from Macquarie University, along with industry partners, candidates will be at the forefront of AI innovations that advance the future of finance.

Availability

This scholarship is available to eligible candidates to undertake a:

  • direct-entry three-year PhD, or
  • one-year MRes program.

Components

The scholarships comprise:

  • a tuition fee offset/scholarship
  • a living allowance stipend.

The value of each stipend scholarship is $38,500 per annum (full time, indexed).
