This project aims to develop Australia’s first online support service for adults with hearing loss that will provide access to credible, evidence-based and consumer-friendly educational materials, resources, and tools on hearing loss.
This is a four-phase project which aims to:
- better understand unmet needs, challenges and/or consumer pain points in accessing and engaging connected earing health information and relevant resources for adults with hearing loss
- conduct a series of ideation meetings to identify solutions that can be developed into prototype ideas to address these unmet needs
- incrementally build on previous iterations until a usable, testable prototype of the online support service is developed and ready for real-life testing with end-users
- test and evaluate different dimensions of the usability, accessibility, and effectiveness of the prototype from the consumer’s perspective. This evaluation data will then be used to further refine and propel the prototype into the final draft of the online service, allowing for wider scale-up.
This project will be a scalable public health solution designed for adults with hearing loss to access person-centred information and a range of support options to meet their needs. This will enable these consumers to increase their health literacy and self-efficacy leading to better self-management of their health and improved quality of life.
