Funding information

Find out about the aims, key dates, resources and contacts for EU Research Infrastructures (Horizon Europe).

Overview

Research Infrastructures are facilities that provide resources and services to conduct research and foster innovation. They can be single-sited, distributed or virtual. The EU action for RIs supports the development, upgrading and consolidation of excellent pan-European RIs, while optimizing their use to address major scientific and societal challenges.

It enables access to digital resources and massive data processing too, by supporting the implementation of the European Open Science Cloud of which Research Infrastructures are central elements.

Changes to Eligibility for DVCR Co-Funding

Eligibility for the DVCR Co-Funding Scheme is now contingent upon on-time submission of grant applications by the date you select for your compliance and eligibility check in the booking calendar. Many applications for external funding require cash and in-kind contributions from the host institution in order to be considered for funding.

In most cases, researchers request cash contributions, such as project support funds, funding for research associates, scholarships and major equipment, from the DVCR via the DVCR Co-Funding Scheme to support their external funding applications. To be eligible to request this DVCR Co-Funding, grant applications must be submitted internally, via Pure, by your compliance and eligibility check date.

  • Applications must be submitted to the Research Services Grant Development Team by your compliance and eligibility check date.
  • View further information on deadlines, processes and FAQs.
  • Applications that do not have a Pure record and/or do not have all the appropriate approvals in Pure (Head of Department [HoD] and Deputy Dean of Research and Innovation [DDRI]) will not be submitted to the external funding body.

Please note that our grant review processes have changed. Strategic reviews are optional, while compliance and eligibility checks are mandatory.

If you wish to receive an optional strategic review of your application, you must book this in via the strategic review online booking system 4 weeks prior to the external deadline.

Compliance and Eligibility reviews are mandatory and must be booked in via the compliance online booking system 2 weeks prior to the external deadline.

There are sufficient booking times available for all applicants, but we recommend booking early to ensure you have an ample choice of dates.
