Our mission is to help the scientific community address their protein analysis needs.
The Australian Proteome Analysis Facility (APAF) team is here to provide support through service work, collaborative projects, and training on our instrumentation available for access.

About the facility
For more than 25 years we have been providing service work and research support to industry, academia and government organisations, servicing hundreds of clients involved in:
- biomedical sciences
- life sciences
- environmental sciences
- food
- agriculture.

A slight price rise for APAF services which will come into effect as of the 25 November 2024, with a price increase of approximately five percent for most services. This increase is in line with continued global price rises for consumables, gases and materials which are required for our laboratory procedures, as well as the residual supply chain challenges that are still facing the sector.
Access to APAF
Our instrumentation is available for Macquarie researchers and research students to access. We can assist you with training and guidance.

Support and accreditation
APAF is:
- supported by Bioplatforms Australia
- funded by the Australian Government National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS)
- accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) for compliance with the international standard ISO/IEC 17025 (accreditation number 20344).
Accreditation is granted through an independent, external assessment of our facility for technical competence and compliance to the accreditation criteria. Ongoing compliance to the accreditation criteria must be demonstrated through NATA’s reassessment program.
