Sporting codes club together
On a rainy Saturday evening on 12th February Prof Dom Rowe and legends from all sporting codes got together on Sydney Harbour to support MND Research, raising over $161,000.
Glittering fundraiser
The glittering fundraiser saw sporting legends including Sir Ian Botham, Nick Farr-Jones and Paul Gallen highlight the need for funds to help the MND Research Centre at Macquarie find a cure for MND.
Guest speakers Ray Hadley and Tim Gilbert moved the night along, engaging the guests. The cocktail event included a 3-course sit-down meal on the cruise boat Bella Vista, with entertainment and live auction of some incredible money-can’t-buy prizes.
Prizes included a round of golf with Sir Ian Botham, an hour of coaching from Paul Gallen (either rugby or in the boxing ring!) and tours of the MND Research Centre at Macquarie University.
A big thank you goes the generous beverage companies that donated their product all at no cost – Gage Roads Brewery, Eden Wines, and Calabria Wines.
Over $161,000 was raised – all proceeds going towards event host Professor Dominic Rowe and his team at the MND Research Facility at Macquarie University.
